Fender American Vintage ’62 Jazz Bass AVRI62 (2-Stack knob) 3-Tone Sunburst w/Original Case

Up for sale, here’s an amazing Fender AV62 Jazz Bass in a stunning and classic 3-Tone Sunburst. Made in Corona, CA USA in 2011. 100% all original in Excellent condition. It comes with its case candy (pickup and bridge covers never used, bass was never drilled yet. Bridge mute strip unused, string mutes unused, thumb rest, registration & warranty cards and cable). It comes with its original brown tolex case, in excellent shape.

8.8 Lbs, which means very lightweight for a Jazz Bass.

The color is truly a classic, a beautiful Nitrocellulose finish in 3-Tone Sunburst, with a 4-ply Tortoise pickguard and rosewood fingerboard and the 2 stack knobs are a killer combination.

The instrument has been gently used, however there is some honest wear due to the nitrocellulose lacquer (just a few little chips and light marks over the edges of the body that it really looks very cool to me and it’ll keep aging nicely over the time. Even with brand newly purchased American Vintage/Original instruments could came from factory with minimal “finish issues” as explained on the Fender Lacquer information sheet included in the case candy. See the photos, although and because of that I still believe it’s in Excellent condition, almost entirely free from blemishes and other visual defects and has been played or used with the utmost care.

The AV’62 comes with 2 stack knob Vol/Tone – Vol Tone and the ground strip from the bridge to the bridge pickup shield. On these particular years, Fender still drilled the regular ground mass cable as any later Fender instrument underneath the bridge and connected to the control shield, however they provided the traditional ground strip in the case candy so it’s up to you if you wanna install it.

The neck on this (unlike many other AV’64 or newer American Original ’60s) has a sweet slimmer 1960s profile with .790″ neck thickness at 1st fret, typical 1.5″ nut width, 7.25″ radius slab fretboard, reverse tuners and era correct decal logo. The neck is perfectly straight with truss rod working flawlessly. It’s currently strung with flat wounds .45 – .100″ and it plays exactly as a goods an old Jazz Bass with the classic sound. Upon request, we can install a fresh set of D’addario Nickel round wounds if you want, we just felt like the flat wounds sits so good on this instrument but it’ll be your choice.
